As Venture Warriors, our goal with the PurposePact movement that we launched at the end of 2022 is for companies to go beyond social responsibility and dedicate their entire existence to combating a social problem. Because, in our opinion, every brand can take action for the world, take meaningful steps against global problems, and make all their expenses in line with this by placing a social benefit at the center of their existence. It can be open, transparent and clear. It can show everyone that it has a much more valuable purpose beyond profit and turnover. Every brand can become a hero fighting for the world.
What You Need to Do to Join This Movement is Pretty Clear:
1) Determine Your Social Existence Purpose: In light of the feedback you will gather from your founders as an institution, determine a sincere social purpose for your institution and write a manifesto for the social cause you will fight for. Briefly touch on the need and solution you envision in this manifesto. Then decide on the values that will frame your actions accordingly. Publicly announce this manifesto and these values on your website.
2) Create Unity Consciousness: Ensure that your organization develops a strong sense of unity with its employees and customers so that it can wage a sincere, effective and collective struggle in line with its manifesto.
For this;
- Prepare a clear and categorized salary/bonus table for all employees within the company and publicly announce it on your website. The difference between the lowest and highest salary/income (CEO/Board Chairman) should not exceed seven times. The highest income (including bonuses and bonuses) should not exceed 15 times the minimum wage in the country you operate in. If the company owner is on active duty, he/she should also be subject to the salary of the senior executive in proportion to his/her labor. If your founders are no longer employed by the company, provide them with a fixed “retirement” salary of at most ten times the minimum wage in the country. In this way, the founders and senior managers can demonstrate their commitment to their goals financially and set an example for all their stakeholders and the public, salaries should not be disconnected from the realities of the country, there should be no gaps between incomes, and all salaries should be sufficient to live a healthy life but reasonable enough not to amass a fortune.
- Do not distribute dividends and avoid super-luxurious expenses. Direct all profits to investments for your manifesto, ensuring that your products and services reach more people. Thus, focus on maximizing the benefit you create.
- Measure the strength of the sense of unity formed within the organization with the “PPact Test” that will be applied anonymously to your employees and stakeholders on an annual basis.
In this way, your employees, customers and suppliers who are aware of each other’s incomes, receive fair payments and are convinced that the manifesto is the priority, will wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to your purpose and increase your influence.
3) Prove Your Intention: Announce to the public that all salaries are paid according to the publicly announced scale, that no dividends are distributed, and that a score above eighty points is obtained from the PurposePact test, with a “Trust Report” that you will receive annually from the Independent Audit firm. Thus, prove that you comply with the PPact criteria and principles.
