Retired Brigadier General Enver Topuz
Born in Izmir in 1955, Enver Topuz began his professional career by entering Kuleli Military High School in 1969. He graduated from the Military Academy as an infantry officer in 1975. He then specialized in the Infantry School in 1976. In 1978, he took a seven-month commando specialization course at the Mountain and Commando School and gained commando, parachutist, mountaineer, skier and diver qualifications. He served as a Platoon and Company Commander in Thrace, TRNC and Ağrı. He was appointed as Special Team Commander to the Special Forces Command in early 1985 and served in different commands and positions in the Special Forces for more than 16 years as a maroon beret (Team Commander, Personnel Section Chief, Battalion Commander, Special Region Officer, Teacher and Board President, Combat Search and Rescue Group Commander). During this period, he participated in numerous operations, training, exercises and courses in Turkey and abroad. He served in Beirut during the Lebanese Civil War in 1987. He was in countries such as the USA, England, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria and Israel for training, exercises and inspection purposes. He served on long-term special duties in Northern Iraq with the ranks of Major and Colonel. He provided courses and training on internal security and special operations to hundreds of TAF personnel. He served as Deputy Director of Civil Defense in the TRNC for 2 years. After the 1999 Marmara earthquake, he established, trained and prepared the TSK Natural Disasters Search and Rescue (DAK) battalion. He was honored with the Medal of Superior Achievement Seniority and Superior Courage and Self-Sacrifice for his successful duties in the Special Forces. He served as a Regiment Commander at the Mountain Commando School and Training Center between 2001-2003. He was later assigned to the GATA TSK Rehabilitation and Care Center, which provides treatment and care services to our heroic veterans in 2003. After his 2-year duty there, he was promoted to brigadier general in 2005 and worked as the Garrison and Infantry Brigade Commander in Sakarya. He was assigned to Isparta as the Internal Security Training and Exercise Center Commander in 2007. As the Founding Brigade Commander, he transferred all his knowledge, skills and experience to his Unit. He retired in 2009.
