SoloTürk – Turkish Air Force / Speed ​​and Concentration Specialist, GIS Mentor Major Yusuf Kurt is a military pilot born in Trabzon. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2003. Following his graduation, he served as an air defense pilot in the 191st Cobra Squadron Command until 2012, and was then appointed as a squadron leader in the 141st Squadron Command. In 2013, Captain Kurt was assigned as the 2nd demonstration pilot and flight safety officer, and in 2014 he was promoted to team leader as the 1st demonstration pilot of SOLOTÜRK. He also served as Squadron Commander at the Air Force Academy between 2016-2018. Between 2018-2022, he served as a Fighter-Bomber Pilot, and in 2023, he served as a NATO Military Advisor. Between 2023 and 2024, he served as a Reconnaissance Pilot and Commander of the UAV Operations Simulator and Training Center Squadron. He retired in 2025 and transitioned to Civil Aviation. Lieutenant Colonel Yusuf Kurt has a total of 4000 flight hours, including 3000 hours in F-16s. He has also authored a book titled “The Wolf of the Skies” and volunteers for organizations such as the Turkish Red Crescent and LÖSEV (a Turkish leukemia foundation).
